Why Two Twenty Grit?

In woodworking, 220-grit sandpaper represents the final step before finishing a project. It's used to refine the scratches left behind by coarser grits, creating a smooth, consistent surface before the finish is applied. At that stage, every detail matters. Once the finish goes on, whatever is underneath becomes permanent.

It’s a simple step, a quick pass, but it shows who’s paid attention to detail throughout the process, who cut corners, and it reveals something important: quality isn't created at the end of a project. It's built throughout the entire process.

You can't start with 220 grit.

Before you ever reach that final pass, there are a hundred other steps that have to happen first. An idea is jotted down on a napkin. From there, a design is refined through various iterations. Materials are selected. Measure twice, cut once. Rough surfaces are shaped with 80 grit. Imperfections are refined with 120 grit. The finish is only as good as the prep. Only then does 220-grit bring everything together. You can't sand out a bad cut.

The same principle applies to remodeling.

Beautiful spaces aren't the result of shortcuts, rushed schedules, or covering up mistakes. They're the result of careful planning, proper preparation, and disciplined execution at every stage of the project. The visible details that you and your guests notice: the clean lines, seamless finishes, and flawless craftsmanship, are only possible because of the work that happened long before the final reveal.

At Two Twenty Grit, we believe every phase of a remodel deserves the same level of care and attention. The design has to be thoughtful. The framing has to be precise. What’s behind the walls has to be installed correctly. The finish work has to be executed with pride.

Anyone can make a project look good on the surface, but our goal is to build spaces that are beautiful because they're built right from the beginning.

The name Two Twenty Grit serves as a reminder of the standard we hold ourselves to every day. We don't skip steps. We don't cut corners. We don't settle for "good enough."

We follow the process, pay attention to the details, and take pride in the work that no one sees so that our clients can enjoy the results they see every day because the best finishes are earned long before the final coat goes on.

OUR CORE VALUES

At Two Twenty Grit, quality is about more than craftsmanship. It's about how we treat our clients, our partners, and our work. These five values guide every decision we make and every project we take on.

Love What You Do

We genuinely enjoy building, creating, and solving problems. Remodeling isn't just a job to us, it's a craft. When people care about their work, it shows in the details, and those details are what transform a house into a home.

Do What You Say You'll Do

Trust is earned through consistency. If we make a commitment, we follow through. Whether it's showing up when we say we will, communicating clearly, or standing behind our work, our goal is simple: keep our word.

Don't Be Shady

Honesty shouldn't be a differentiator, but in this industry it often is. We believe in straightforward communication, transparent pricing, and candid conversations. If something goes wrong, we'll tell you. If we don't know the answer, we'll tell you that too.

Do Good Work

Quality isn't an upgrade at Two Twenty Grit, it's the standard. We don't cut corners, skip steps, or settle for "good enough." From planning and preparation to the final details, we believe every phase of a project deserves the same level of care and attention.

Admit Your Mistakes

Nobody gets everything right all the time. What matters is how you respond when something doesn't go according to plan. We take responsibility for our mistakes, address them directly, and focus on making things right.
